So you did the "BC" what now? (advice for the "TWA")

So you cut all your hair off and now your rocking a "TWA"..... your're probably feeling very self conscience about you appearance right now. Seems like every where you go someone has a head full of kinky, coiled hair. Your wondering will your hair look that way when it gets long or will it even get long. Going natural can be very over whelming at first at least it was for me. The rude comments I got from folks I didn't think would ever stop. I honestly felt like I had made a mistake when I first went natural, but I decided not to give up. The "TWA" is the best part of being natural trust me, you don't have to do too much other than pick your hair out. This is the perfect time to do research and find out what kind of products your hair loves.

I know finding the best product may seem over whelming as well since everything your going to read will say use all natural products. When you look in your medicine cabinet its going to seem like you have all the products your not suppose to put on your hair. Before you rush to the store to buy those all natural products, get a list together of what you will need. A lot of the things we used while relaxed can be used while natural. Sticking to the "rules" of being natural really can make a person revert back to relaxing their hair. That is why its important for you to do you, not everybody hair is the same what works for me may not work for you. All you really need to do right now is drink plenty of water and keep your fro moisturized with a good oil, cream or butter.

A good oil to start off with would be jojoba oil  (pronounced ho-HO-ba). Jojoba oil is most similar to your skins natural oil. Using jojoba oil moisturizes your scalp deep down to its pores and doesn’t evaporate, unlike other water-based moisturizers.  You can also try olive oil, coconut oil ,grape seed oil, castor oil and many others. Sleep with your satin bonnet, scarf, or pillow case every night. Co washing will be your friend so stock up on conditioners. Get some cute earrings and keep your eyebrows arched shoot wear some false lashes if thats you thing and rock the hell out of your fro and keep it simple.
