The 411 On My Deep Conditioner!

I love deep conditioning my hair....I run through conditioner like crazy....I have leave in conditioner, post shampoo conditioner, pre shampoo conditioner, deep conditioner and hot oil treatments...I love conditioning my hair....but this blog post is about the difference between all these conditioners....

One day while deep conditioning my hair I ran out with half of my head left to go.....I refused to get in my car and drive to get another jar......So I thought to myself (self) Myself said (huh?) why cant you just use regular conditioner?......So I grabbed my Fave conditioner Organix Nourishing Coconut Milk (*sigh I love that stuff) I compared the ingredients couldn't find anything different other than a few ingredients.....So I went for it and loved it so every since then I have been using just regular conditioner meaning it doesn't have "Deep" in the title.

Since I had such wonderful results I researched (googled) to see if there was really a difference I found that although many conditioners say "deep" they are actually just rinse out conditioners....No matter how long you leave the conditioners on they will only coat the hair shaft and not penetrate it......What I found is that certain ingredients will penetrate the hair and you should look for them when searching for a great deep conditioner....My conditioner has coconut oil in it, coconut oil has a high affinity for hair proteins and, because of its low molecular weight and straight linear chain, is able to penetrate inside the hair shaft....Other oils such as  Avocado Oil, Olive oil penetrate the hair shaft to make it stronger as well.....So don't be fooled by a label look at the ingredients to determine if the product really has what it takes to do what it claims it can do.
